City Shuffle announced today the release of its latest edition of The Diner?s Deck, the pocket-sized NYC dining guide in which each of 52 cards is a $ 10 gift certificate to the restaurant it recommends.
Supporting small businesses by providing an incentive to locals and tourists alike to visit privately owned restaurants, the new 2011 edition of The Diner?s Deck (valid for use now) features many chef-owned restaurants where menus change daily according to the availability of fresh ingredients at the city?s greenmarkets. There are no national chain restaurants in the deck.
City Shuffle has been publishing its annually updated Diner?s Deck since 2003. Sales have increased in recent years as more customers find the guide online and in stores, and as more corporations brand the deck with their logos. ?Coupons are definitely cool again,? said Mark Boyett, co-founder of City Shuffle, ?and ours require no awkward conversations with your server before ordering. The cards are beautifully designed, require no ripping or clipping, and are virtually as user-friendly as cash.?
With an easily reached spending minimum of only $ 30 at a restaurant, a Diner?s Deck card can be slipped right into the check presenter at the end of the meal as though it were a $ 10 bill, making a $ 30 tab a $ 20 tab. The cards are valid seven days a week from now till the end of 2011.
